Yr Wyddfa is one of those mountains that deserves more than a single day. Stay a few nights and you start to really get to know it — different routes, different weather, different light. Lodge Dinorwig is set up for exactly that.
We sit above Llanberis on the edge of Eryri, and the mountain is right on our doorstep.
Food that fits your day
We are a fully catered hostel, and honestly, that makes a real difference to how your days go.
You will start with a proper cooked breakfast before you head out. Packed lunches are available too — just let us know the night before and yours will be ready to grab on your way. And when you get back in the evening, tired legs and all, there is a hot dinner waiting. No faff, no driving around looking for food. Just sit down and eat.
It is the kind of setup that makes multi-night stays genuinely easy.
Five routes, one base
Free parking at the hostel means your car is sorted for the whole trip. And from here, you have access to more of the mountain than you might expect.
The Llanberis Path starts in Llanberis itself, about a 40-minute walk from us — a nice warm-up, actually, and the most straightforward route to the summit. Great if it is your first time on Yr Wyddfa.
The S3 Sherpa bus stops right outside and heads up to Rhyd Ddu and the Snowdon Ranger Trails, two lovely routes that most people miss. The S2 picks up from Deiniolen, the next village over, and takes you to Pen-y-Pass for the Pyg Track and the Miners’ Track.
Five distinct routes, all reachable without moving your car once.
Local knowledge on tap
Between us, we have spent years on these hills. We know which paths get boggy after rain, which routes suit which fitness levels, and what the weather tends to do at different times of year. Before you head out, just ask. We are happy to help you plan the best day possible.
A reason to stay mid-week
Thinking about coming Sunday to Thursday? We have a midweek special on: 20% off three or more nights with the code MIDWEEK20. The mountain is quieter mid-week too, which is a bonus in itself.
Yr Wyddfa rewards time. Come and take a few days with it.
