Address
Dinorwig, Gwynedd
North Wales LL55 3EY
Directions
Follow the road through Deiniolen, as it’s the most direct route to us and is a well lit two lane road all the way.
Some satnavs may suggest an alternative route via Bryn Refail and Fachwen, but please avoid this if possible. It’s a narrow, poorly lit single-track road with few passing places and lots of bends.

Meet the Team
Hi there.
We are Simon and Sonni.
After many ski seasons in Europe and America, we wanted to come back to Wales and start something similar here. We converted the old school into Lodge Dinorwig and are welcoming guests since 2015.
Simon
If you can’t find Simon in the kitchen cooking up something delicious, he’s probably out on his bike exploring the hills. He grew up just down the road, so he knows the area inside out and is always happy to share local tips.
Sonni
Sonni’s the one making sure everyone is well looked after and that your morning coffee fix is just right. When she’s not at the hostel, she’s usually out on a run, exploring the local trails and finding new routes to recommend.
A bit of History
The building was originally a school until 1969 and then served as a community space for many years. We bought it in 2014 and spent 10 months converting it into a hostel, opening as Lodge Dinorwig in 2015. Over the years, we’ve taken inspiration from the best bits of hostels we’ve stayed in during our travels—and made sure to avoid the things we really didn’t like—so every guest can enjoy a comfortable, welcoming stay.
